Students in Lewis and Clark Community College’s YouthBuild program are hard at work giving a vacant Alton house a brand-new life. They split their time between the classroom at the Scott Bibb Center, where they’re working toward earning their high school diplomas, and the job site, where they’re learning valuable construction skills that will help prepare them for careers in the trades.
When the project is finished, the city-owned home will be sold to a family transitioning from public housing, creating a fresh start for both the home and its future owners.
We’re so proud of our YouthBuild students and the dedicated instructors and trainers who are helping them build skills, confidence, and a brighter future while making a real difference in our community.
