Godfrey – Lewis and Clark Community College closed out its season in strong fashion with a 74–56 victory over Rend Lake College on Sophomore Night, finishing the year with a memorable home performance.
The first half was very close, with both teams competing at a high level. Lewis and Clark led 38–29 at halftime. A key factor in the half was David Marshall, who delivered an impressive performance, hitting two important three-pointers at crucial moments. The team also benefited from strong play by Mario Brown, while Trevon Bond was very active throughout the half, contributing energy on both ends of the court.
As the minutes passed in the second half, Lewis and Clark began to feel much more comfortable and in control of the game. The team increased its intensity and execution, while the opponent’s performance started to decline. Lewis and Clark extended its lead steadily and finished the game with a convincing 74–56 victory.
This game marked the end of the season, making the victory even more meaningful. Finishing on a win — especially on Sophomore Night — was a strong way to close out the year and celebrate the contributions of the team’s sophomores.
The win also provides positive momentum heading into the offseason for the Lewis and Clark Community College Trailblazers.
