Godfrey – Lewis and Clark Community College secured a strong win over Lake Land College with a final score of 63–49 in an impressive performance that showed steady improvement throughout the game.
The game started off very competitive, with both teams playing closely in the opening minutes. However, Lewis and Clark began to feel more comfortable on the court and finished the first quarter ahead 20–14.
In the second quarter, the team continued to build momentum. With stronger defense and improved offensive execution, Lewis and Clark extended its lead and showed increasing control of the game.
The third quarter followed the same pattern, as Lewis and Clark maintained its lead and stayed consistent on both ends of the court without allowing Lake Land to close the gap significantly.
In the final quarter, Lewis and Clark finished strong and secured the 63–49 victory, demonstrating consistency and teamwork from start to finish.
Several players made key contributions, especially Abby, who had an impactful performance and provided important energy for the team. La’Tajsa also stood out with strong play on both offense and defense, helping maintain the team’s momentum.
Abby said this victory “means more than just a win,” explaining that it showed the team’s growth after a challenging season. She shared that the win proved they “really are a family” and that they “never stopped competing, even when things were tough.” She also said it gives her confidence moving forward because growth “shows in how you respond.”
This win was especially important because it allowed the team to finish the season on a positive note. Everyone is proud of the effort and determination shown by our Trailblazers. Moving forward, this victory gives the team confidence and momentum heading into next season.
