L&C Counseling Department Hosting Wellness Week on Godfrey Campus

GODFREY – Lewis and Clark Community College’s Counseling Department and Wellness Committee are hosting Wellness Week, highlighting campus and community resources, featuring free food, activities, mental health screenings and suicide awareness information. Events run from March 31 to April 3.

“Wellness Week is a great opportunity for students and team members to prioritize their well-being, explore campus resources, and connect with each other in a safe and supportive environment,” L&C Counseling Coordinator Terri Austin said.

Schedule of Events

Monday, March 31

· 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Mental health resources & screenings, open art activities, snacks

Location: The Commons

Tuesday, April 1

· 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Mental health resources & screenings, open art activities

· 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Gardening activity

Wednesday, April 2

· 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Mental health resources & screenings, open art activities

· Noon to 1 p.m.: Goat Yoga session

Location: Fobes Lawn

· 1 and 2 p.m. (2 sessions): Sound Bowl Meditation

· 4 to 5 p.m.: Student Support Group (stress & self-care)

    Laura Inlow is the staff advisor for The Bridge, Lewis and Clark Community College’s student news organization. She joined Lewis and Clark Community College’s Marketing & Public Relations department as a Media/Web Specialist in 2009 and has managed the department since 2015. As such, she oversees the marketing and public relations efforts of the college, including but not limited to enrollment marketing, advertising, college websites, social media channels, media releases, photography, graphic design, branding, and the operation of the college’s Print Shop. She has a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Eastern Illinois University. As a non-traditional student, she attended Lewis and Clark for her Associate in Applied Science degree in Web Design. Before working at LC, she was a reporter and page designer for The Telegraph newspaper in Alton for three years and continued working as a freelance reporter, designer and photographer long after making the jump to PR. She formerly taught a course in News Writing at Lewis and Clark and currently teaches Social Media Marketing online.
