On March 26th, 2026, Lewis and Clark College hosted an exciting and energetic day with the KD Cup 2026, a tournament featuring 4 teams organized by the college’s Athletics Department. This event combines sports and fun and has become a tradition that highlights not just competition, but also inclusion and participation for the entire college community.

The main activity of this edition was “Fun with Flags Football”, a unique twist on American football that emphasizes safety and enjoyment. Unlike traditional football, where players tackle opponents to take the ball, in this version, participants remove flags from their opponents’ belts. This simple change made the game safer, encouraged strategy and quick thinking, and allowed everyone to join in, regardless of athletic experience or skill level.

From the very beginning, the atmosphere was lively and full of energy. Players showed creativity and agility on the field, while spectators cheered and laughed at every surprising move or clever play. Although winning was a goal, the KD Cup today really stood out for its focus on participation and inclusivity, giving every player the opportunity to be part of the action.

The tournament also provided a chance to strengthen friendships and build a sense of community. Laughter, excitement from every play, and the spirit of friendly competition made the afternoon unforgettable. The organizers ensured everything ran smoothly, from preparing the belts and flags to managing the teams, demonstrating careful planning and dedication.

KD Cup 2026 proved that sporting events can be so much more than just competitions. They are moments of connection, fun, and camaraderie, where everyone has a place and can enjoy the game together. By the end of the day, participants agreed that the most important part wasn’t who won, but the shared experience, the thrill of each play, and the joy of taking part in something fun and accessible to all.

Without a doubt, the KD Cup continues to grow as a tradition that celebrates sports, community, and inclusion at Lewis and Clark College, leaving behind happy memories and excitement for the next edition.
