Ever wanted to connect with more people? Lewis and Clark Community College offers American Sign Language courses designed to build your conversational abilities and cultural awareness.
SIGN-135-01: Beginning American Sign Language I
In this class you’ll learn approximately 300 ASL vocabulary items, foundational grammar, fingerspelling, and essential deaf culture insights. The goal is to build beginner conversational skills for interacting with deaf individuals.
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.
SIGN-136: Beginning American Sign Language II
Continue to develop and expand your vocabulary by learning additional 300 signs, advanced ASL grammar, and continued practice with receptive and expressive fingerspelling skills, which will allow you to deepen your conversational fluency.
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
