Reid Library Adds Request Link/Horror Books

In April, Reid Memorial Library added a new link to its website where students, teachers, and staff can request books. The link is on www.lc.edu/library. This
new feature lets people ask the library to buy books they want to read.

Laura, who works at the library, used the link to request several horror books. The library reviewed her list and ordered many of the titles. Now those books
are available for students to check out.

This new system helps the library know what students are interested in. Instead of guessing what books to buy, the library can now hear directly from students.

The process is simple. Students go to the library website, fill out the request form, and submit the title and author of the book they want. Library staff then
decide if they can purchase it.

The new feature gives students a voice and helps make the library better for everyone. Reid Memorial Library encourages students to use the request link
and share the books they would like to see next
.
-Lina, a student at Lewis and Clark Community College, said she was excited to see more horror books on the shelves. “I love that we can suggest books,” Lina said. “It makes me feel like the library listens to us. I’m really happy there are more horror stories now.”
