Hello Trailblazers!
My name is Taylor Smith and I’m very excited to announce myself as the Editor in Chief at LC’s student run news organization, The Bridge, for the 2025-2026 school year. I have been working at this amazing publication since 2023, starting as a graphic design intern and writer. Since then I have been a layout editor, associate editor, and now editor in chief.
I received my Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Graphic Design from Lewis and Clark in 2023, and I am currently pursuing a certificate in animation. I also have 5+ years experience as a freelance writer. I’m thrilled to be able to bring my skills and experience to the table in what I think is going to be an amazing and transformative year for us.
My hope this year is to work with the rest of The Bridge team to rekindle excitement in student journalism. So far, we have a great team onboard to make that happen. However, to make The Bridge all it can be, we need your involvement too! Remember, this is your student newspaper, and your role is just as important as any official staff member’s.
To that end, my team and I will be offering up plenty of opportunities for students to contribute. Look for chances to submit your own short stories, photography, art, and more. We’d love to see what you have to offer.
