On Wednesday, August 25, 2023, as part of the eagerly awaited Welcome Week festivities, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) made a grand entrance into the Fall 2023 semester with the inaugural Water Balloon Fest. This exciting event, filled with laughter and friendly competition, took place in The Grove, just steps away from the Math and Science Building, and it was orchestrated by Elizabeth Grant, an English teacher, and dedicated PTK advisor.

“Phi Theta Kappa was happy to participate in Welcome Week with the first Water Balloon Fest. We had over 1000 balloons that lasted 22 minutes, and we had a lot of fun,” said Grant.

“The balloon fest is a great way to encourage a friendly competitive spirit,” said student, Grace Witsken.

In a splashy start to the Fall 2023 semester, Phi Theta Kappa’s Water Balloon Fest added ripples of excitement throughout Welcome Week. The sea of over a thousand colorful balloons and the spirited 22-minute water war brought students and faculty closer, fostering a sense of community and unity. As the semester ahead is collectively embraced, let this camaraderie and spirit of a friendly competition exhibited at the Water Balloon Fest serve as an inspiring reminder of what can be achieved together.

With this exhilarating kickoff, there is a warm welcome to the Fall 2023 semester and a look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and memorable moments. Welcome to Fall 2023!
