Lewis and Clark Community College hosted its annual Discovery Day event on Monday, February 20. Discovery Day is a fun, effective, and creative way to showcase Lewis and Clark’s various clubs, activities, and attractions. The event, held in the Commons from 3-5 p.m., showcased the various clubs, activities, and opportunities available to students and the public.

Over 100 people attended the event, which featured snacks, tables, and guides to help visitors navigate the campus. Tours were available every half-hour, allowing families and potential incoming LC students to explore the campus and learn about its history and unique offerings. The event also provided an opportunity for students planning to transfer to LC to get a first-hand look at the campus.

In addition to the tours, all of LC’s clubs and student-focused organizations had tables set up for visitors. This allowed students to learn more about the clubs and activities available at Lewis and Clark, and with club members seated behind their respective tables, students could learn more about the actual experiences of joining a club.

Choosing a college is, understandably, a difficult one for many families. Discovery Day is aimed to alleviate that initial fear by introducing newcomers to the heart and spirit of the campus and to allowing students to demonstrate their pride in what Lewis and Clark brings to us.

Overall, Discovery Day is a fun and engaging event for both Lewis and Clark and the community at large. The annual event serves to strengthen our core and surrounding communities and showcase what makes LC incredible!
