The millennials; how long is the list of crazy, unsupervised, and stupid actions to prove that they are just inhumane? This years recent internet challenge, called the “Bird Box Challenge”, has gone viral all over the globe ever since the new movie “Bird Box”, a Netflix original film.
For those of you who don’t know what the Bird Box challenge is, it’s when a person put on a blindfold and proceeds to do something that would put them in harm’s way and hope that they survive. Some examples are; driving while blindfolded, walking across a street blindfolded, going down stairs blindfolded, walking across ice blindfolded, etc..
In my defense, I have not attempted this challenge. I think it is unwise, silly, and very much dangerous for anyone to attempt such a challenge. Though some may be harmless and humorous, many are dangerous and deadly. My advice for anyone who is willing to attempt this challenge: please don’t.
I know what it is like to be unpopular, to not fit in, being the outsider and feeling alone all the time, but doing dangerous stunts to fit in with the cool crowd is not gonna get you anywhere but either arrested or killed and those are two paths no one wants to go down.
Trying to get likes and followers doesn’t make you any less of a person than who you were before the Bird Box challenge. If people really like you for you, then they would like and follow you for who you are and not for some stupid stunt. You need to know that getting followers on the internet are not real friends.
So please I am begging you stop the Bird Box challenge, find a hobby, live your life to the fullest, and stop trying to kill yourselves. Life isn’t all about social media it’s about living in the moment and the Bird Box challenge is not living in the moment.
