Radiohead’s newest album, The King of Limbs, was released this morning! Announced last weekend, Radiohead tweeted that their highly-anticipated album would be released in only….wait for it….five days. That meant fans, who have been waiting ever since the release of 2008’s In Rainbows, would finally get their hands on new Radiohead material in less than a week. But, in true Radiohead fashion, this wasn’t the only surprise hidden in their fake plastic trees.
Visitors to the band’s website this morning were greeted with “It’s Friday… It’s almost the weekend…It’s a full moon….You can download ‘The King of Limbs’ now if you so wish! Thank you good people for waiting … Have a great weekend wherever you are.” That’s right, the album was released a day early for purchase on the website.
In addition to the digital copy being sold on the website, you can also pre-order the newspaper album, which consists of: “two clear 10” vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve, a compact disc, many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.” The wide release of the album in retail stores will come on March 28.
So What are you waiting for? Visit the band’s website here to download or pre-order your copy of the album.
