This witch certainly isn’t the fun-loving Sabrina Spellman from the nineties we all knew! This interesting and dark series takes us on a whole new adventure with a whole new witch. Kiernan Shipka plays out dark half-witch half-mortal teenager girl as she struggles to decide to devote her life to the coven, or to her human lover and friends.

Unlike the show with Melissa Joan Hart, this particular series was based solely on a comic book series, also called The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which follows a very similar plot to the series.

For those of you who are huge Riverdale fans, this could be an excellent show for you! This story takes place in the same universe as Riverdale, the setting being in Greendale across Sweet Water River. However, this show goes much darker than Riverdale’s usual dramatic tone. Think of the show as Riverdale and American Horror Story’s sick and twisted love child.

We also, of course, see familiar faces such as Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda, and everyone’s favorite black cat! We’re also greeted with a few new faces as well that shake up the story we thought we all knew. Also, we get a retelling of one of the most timeless love stories, Sabrina and Harvey Kinkle.

I would say anyone who loves horror should instantly get into their Netflix account and enjoy the wild ride of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina! Especially those of you, like me, who am already missing the spooky spirit of Halloween. Fret not dead readers and watchers, this show can provide those feelings again and again until Netflix gets judgy and asks if you’re still watching.

The show is currently streaming on Netflix, and if you can stomach it, is worth every binge-ing minute from start to finish.
