Lewis and Clark Community College will host a Student Art Exhibition from March 31 to April 30, 2023, at Hatheway Cultural Center.

This year, up to $600 in cash prizes and awards will be presented to art students during the opening reception on Friday, March 31. Prizes include a $250 1st Place Purchase Award, a $125 2nd Place Cash Award, a $75 3rd Place Cash Award, and three Honorable Mention Awards – $50 Gift Cards for Art Materials from Dick Blick, Inc.

Angela Hung, the Fine Art Program Coordinator, Associate Professor of Art, and Gallery Director says, “The Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition is always a great event. This show provides students a wonderful opportunity to experience preparing, submitting and having their artwork juried and displayed in a professional gallery space.”

The deadline to submit Fine Art entries is Monday, March 27, by 3 p.m. Bring your work to be juried, with two attached entry forms for each piece submitted, to the following locations:

  • Paintings and 2D designs should be delivered to the Wade 3rd-floor hallway.
  • Drawings should be taken to Wade 3100.
  • Photographs should be taken to Wade 2107.
  • 3-D sculptures should be taken to Wade 3106.
  • Ceramics should be taken to Trimpe 110.

The deadline to submit Digital Art entries is Friday, March 10, by 11 p.m.

Graphic and Web Design students can submit files by emailing a link to the entry file, which should be stored on a cloud-based server, to ljett@lc.edu. Entries can also be brought in on a flash drive during any of your classes with Louise Jett in Trimpe 290. Please ask your instructor for entry forms.

Louise Jett is the Graphic & Web Design Coordinator, Assistant Professor, and The Bridge Advisor. “I encourage all art, graphic design, and web design students to consider submitting pieces to the Student Art Show. It is a great opportunity to be recognized for their hard work and see their art on display in a gallery. Opening night is so much fun, and you can actually win cash prizes!” Louise exclaimed. “I am so proud of Graphic Design Student Jeannette Carrington. She won the first-place prize last year. It was exciting for all of us!”
