As the 2021 Lewis and Clark Fall semester begins so does the work of the Student Government Association.
The SGA is a student-run advocacy body, led by president David Crull, that serves as a voice for the students. Their first executive meeting took place on August 25th.
Topics such as improved signage, the upcoming club declarations, officer positions, September vaccination clinics, and the September Active Minds event – Send Silence Packing – were discussed at length. Fall Fest was also touched on and will begin in late September.
The first general meeting, wherein all students are permitted to attend, took place on Wednesday, September 1st at 1 p.m. and will continue to take place at the same time on the first Wednesday of each month. These meetings can be attended virtually via Zoom and in person. Zoom login details can be found on the Lewis and Clark site under Student Government; however, a physical location has yet to be determined.
The SGA incumbents for this academic year are David Crull as the President, Jerika Burton as the Vice President, Elise Gremli as the Treasurer, Samuel Copeland as the Student Trustee, and Milli Carter as the Director of Student Activities. All other positions of office remain open and to be determined. To contact any of these members refer to the Lewis and Clark site under Student Government for their information as well as any other information regarding the Student Government.
The SGA hasn’t settled on a general focus for this academic year quite yet. They are, however, committed to supporting students during this unusual and anxious time as well as optimistic for this academic year.
