Dear Readers,

Welcome back to school! It is hard to believe that it has already been about a month since the campus buzzed back to life with the excitement of a new academic year. We hope you have settled into your classes and are finding your groove in this familiar yet always thrilling environment.

As we venture into October soon, I want to remind you to savor every moment of the college experience. Lewis and Clark Community College (LC) has a wealth of opportunities waiting for you, both inside and outside of the classroom. From inspiring lectures to engaging clubs, lively sporting events to thought-provoking discussions, there is something here for everyone.

One of the highlights of the first month was the Back to School Bash, hosted by LC Student Activities. This multi-day event saw our various school clubs and groups hosting fun and engaging events throughout the weeks. In this issue of The Bridge, you will find extensive coverage of these events, giving you a glimpse of the vibrant community that makes LC special.

On a more somber note, we remember Deborah Lovel, our long-time HR Coordinator, who left us on Aug. 23, 2023. Debbie’s warmth, dedication, and unwavering support touched the lives of countless individuals here at Lewis and Clark. Her legacy will forever be a part of our college, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends. We are profoundly grateful for her lasting impact on our community.

Amidst the rigors of academic life, we encourage you to take a break and explore the lighter side of college. In this issue, you will find a collection of activities and comics to brighten your day and offer a well-deserved respite from your studies.

But wait, there’s more! We invite you to connect with us on social media and participate in our Opinion Piece Challenge and Travel Tales Contest. Share your thoughts on the issues that matter to you or take us on a journey through your most captivating travel stories. The most well-reasoned and insightful opinion piece and the most captivating and insightful travel stories could earn a spot on our website and in future issues of The Bridge.

Thank you for being a part of The Bridge community. We are here to inform, entertain, and engage with you throughout the semester. Your support and feedback drive us to do our best, and we look forward to sharing another fantastic semester together.

Enjoy every moment of your college journey, for it is a time like no other!

Warm regards,
