Lewis and Clark Community College recently hosted a free event on Nov. 14 at the Alton Bowl Haven Lanes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for the all the clubs and staff members to compete for a winning prize money of 75 dollars so that may the lucky winner could use it to help their club or staff members. They also had the option for all individual players to bowl for their life in hopes of winning a 15 dollar gift card to any restaurant in the local Godfrey area of their choosing.
It was a truly fun experience for students, a day of just spending time with their friends and coworkers with the main goal of beating the competition. With free pizza, what could possibly go wrong?
As the battle began; a race between two unexpected rivals, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and The Bridge school newspaper. Then the countdown began for the 27 individuals who were literally bowling to the top.
In the end, Phi Theta Kappa won and took the big money home, along with Bridgette Dickerson, who out of the 27 individuals scored the highest score and won a 15 dollar gift card, awesome job Bridgette, showing an awesome job to all of the members who participated at the Alton Bowl Haven lanes!
With any hope, this tradition of the students getting to enjoy bowling with free pizza will continue on and maybe even move to once a semester instead of only in the Fall semester, allowing more students the chance to participate and enjoy some old-fashioned fun! Alton Bowl Haven Lanes is located in Alton at 3003 Washington Ave. Alton Bowl Haven is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturdays, and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
