It’s that time of year again. Stockings are hung, chimneys are swept, presents are wrapped and placed under pine trees glistening with multi-colored lights and silver tinsel. This holiday season, there are thousands of children who will not have the opportunity to experience the things that seem to most like Christmas basics.

The U.S. Marine Corps has rendered it their goal “to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.” They ask that you purchase a toy of any sort and drop it off, unwrapped, at any local Toys for Tots drop-off site.

A list of local Toys For Tots Drop-Off Sites is as follows:

Jerseyville: Farm & Home Center, First Bank, Casey’s General Stores, JCH Wellness Center, Farmers

State Bank, First MidAmerica Credit Union, CNB Bank & Trust, Walgreens, Dollar General, Jerseyville

Banking Center, Jersey State Bank, WalMart, and the Sheriff’s Office.

Alton:  Milton Chiropractic on Broadway, Argosy .

Any Toys-R-Us location.
