SOUNDWAVES: (Song Of The Day: Encore) The Decemberists

Song of the day

Last night WLCA presented The Decemberists live at the Pageant. I have seen many shows but few of them can stand up to what Colin Meloy and company put on last night, including a previous performance by them I saw a few years ago. The concert, the set list of which can be found below courtesy of  The Decemberists’ Facebook page, included not only gorgeously performed selections of the band’s catalog, but also constant humor and audience participation (see below). Opening up with a hypnotizing message from the mayor of Portland, which the voice claimed was not recorded but that he was floating above the audience who should not look up to see if this statement was true, the concert ended with two encore’s and multiple standing ovations.

Check out each encore’s track below as well as the set list. Here is hoping they come back immediately.
