Preliminarily recorded in the course of only one night, Alexi Murdoch’s newest EP Towards the Sun came out yesterday. The seven track EP blends mostly acoustic instrumentation with Murdoch’s intimate vocals. “I know it’s sort of the fashionable thing to say, ‘Oh, I sat under this dark sky on my own in the middle of nowhere and wrote these songs,’ but I really did,” Murdoch told Spinner.com.

Murdoch’s most recent music acknowledgment was his contribution to the Away We Go soundtrack.
