With the looming ice/snow storm coming in, Lewis & Clark has cancelled classes for the rest of Monday.  At 11:30 AM ice was forming along bridges and sidewalks as students that did brave the elements to come to class only were disappointed to see that their instructors had already cancelled classes themselves.  With classes just starting, instructors haven’t had the time to create contact lists to warn their students that they are cancelling classes on their own.

Classes are in doubt tomorrow as well with as much at 12 inches of snow being projected for the Godfrey area by tomorrow evening.  Along with the quarter to half inch of ice that is expected by the end of Monday, this storm has the power to be a real problem for student and faculty alike.

Ameren has already called in power line crews from as far away as Kansas City, MO in preparation for the storm and transportation departments are going to be working overtime trying to make the roads as safe as possible.

Stay tuned to The Bridge and go to www.lc.edu and sign up for the alert system to have the college notify you immediately when classes are canceled instead of watching the morning news.
