How Illumination stole The Grinch

How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss is a number one classic during the Christmas season. Every Christmas, I watch how the Grinch Stole Christmas just for good old joyful laughs and big smiles!

To be fairly honest, this year’s new How the Grinch Stole Christmas movie was absolutely terrible. They should have just stuck with the same old Jim Carrey.

In this movie, none of the whos’ down in Whoville were scared of the Grinch, and the Grinch didn’t even seem that mean at all. I understand it’s a kids’ movie, and moms freak out when their kids imitate movie characters, but come on! It’s the Grinch! Show a little aggression or something, it’s not gonna hurt the little kids who still believe in Santa or make them angry brats. The movie would just show them that it’s not good to be a humbug on Christmas.

The original How the Grinch Stole Christmas was absolutely hilarious, this new movie I would only say earned a few laughs here and there because of the cuteness and watching this poor watered-down Grinch get so aggravated was hilarious.

Jim Carrey as an actor makes any movie absolutely hilarious, especially his portrayal of the Grinch. This new Grinch, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, should just stick to playing his role as Doctor Strange, he was just a little bit too strange for the Grinch.

The original How the Grinch Stole Christmas was amazing, I would without a doubt give it five stars all across the board. The new How the Grinch Stole Christmas was completely and undeniably terrible, I would honestly say I would at least give the poor movie a star and a half for good graphics, I suppose.

So above all, How the Grinch Stole Christmas should have and will always be the good old-fashioned Jim Carrey way. With humor, music, and a good screenplay. Always ask yourself before going to see a reboot, “Is this really worth it?”
