SOUNDWAVES: New Mumford & Sons Album On The Way

Mumford-Sons

British folk powerhouse Mumford & Sons are heading back into the studio this year to create the follow up to their stellar debut Sigh No More; which was arguably the best album released last year or,  more arguably, the best album released in the past couple of years.

Rolling Stone reports that the band hopes to go into the studio this year to record their album and have a release soon after.

“We wrote six tracks in a week when we there on a farm,” keyboard/ accordionist Ben Lovett tells Rolling Stone in regards to the band meeting back up in Nashville after a break in January. “We just played every day and shared with each other the different songs we’d been writing on our time away from each other. It was quite an interesting way to catch up – you know, songs were the best way we could express ourselves when we hadn’t been with each other. It was like, ‘Ah, what have you been up to?’ and then it’s like you hear their song as an anecdote.”

If you are lucky enough, catch the band as they embark on the Railroad Revival Tour with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show.
